A Warm Beginning
Turtle Doves began in December 2009 with a simple, practical idea. Its founder, Kate Holbrook, started experimenting with ways to reuse old cashmere and came up with a design for fingerless gloves that could also serve as wrist warmers. It all started with a few handmade pairs gifted to friends, and the positive feedback encouraged her to take them to a local school fair.
The response there was unexpected - people really connected with the warmth, comfort, and story behind the product. That early interest turned a small experiment into something bigger. Over time, Turtle Doves grew into a business built around creativity, sustainability, and high-quality craftsmanship, all while keeping the focus on giving new life to pre-loved materials.
